Parish Register Series

From 1914 the Society published nine volumes of parish registers. This separate series continued intermittently through to the early 1920s. The volumes are similar in appearance to the main series but instead of the cream bindings they are a dull shade of green. These volumes have long been out of print.

In the Society’s 6th Annual Report, 1915-16, it was noted that Vol. 6 was intended to be ‘Lincoln City Parishes-Marriages’ and Volume 7 was to have been ‘Gainsborough’. Volumes for Stamford All Saints, Louth and Sibsey were also planned.

The Annual Report for 1916-18 has the following Note: “N.B. On account of the increased cost of printing, the work of the Parish Register Section is suspended.” This note was repeated yearly until the Annual Report for 1973-74.
